Sunless Sea — MMORPG Concept Design Document
Prototype: Sunless Sea Mock-up
Co-designed a Cthulhu-inspired MMORPG set in a dark Age of Discovery world, where players navigate a conspiracy-ridden ocean as sailors, merchants, and monster hunters. The game features a dual combat system combining naval ship battles with on-deck melee encounters, and a branching class tree with 4 base classes and 12+ advanced specializations. Designed core systems including a three-tier player economy (Stillwater Coins, Ocean Supplies, and Eldritch Silver), a player-driven black market, a guild-based territory control metagame, and a PvP reputation system inspired by Elden Ring's Recusant mechanic. Also contributed a seasonal live event — the Festival of Fools — with its own dedicated currency, daily quest loops, and limited-time rewards. Independently produced all UI wireframes and system flow diagrams in Figma.
